A plot prediction (at p.25)
On the first few pages, that I have read, I had a change of my impressions from the book. The story began with a joyful occasion, they celebrated an engagement. The party was in a festive mood, even if it was a little forced. But then the inspector appeared and the story gets a new drive. I had the feeling, that the narrative suddenly was more serious. The Characters were confronted with a tragic happening; a young woman named Eva Smith commited suicide and the inspector was trying to find out, who was guilty. He accused Arthur Birling of putting the victim in this hopeless situation. My prediction is that the book will deepen this subject. It will ask the question of when you're guilty, when you have influence on a victim in former life I think it is a story about the unconscious guilty of a group of persons. (Words: 150)
